A decade is a long time! Tell us about your journey with EC?

I joined EC as a Flash Animator - back when “Motion Graphics” sounded like a fancy YouTube term. I had zero clue about video editing. ZERO.

The first few days were chaos, late nights, non-stop work, and me thinking, “Is this an office or a never-ending group project?” But soon I realized I had joined at the best time.
Yes, the work was intense.

But so were the cakes, surprise parties, and 5 PM snack breaks. Turns out, EC wasn’t just about deadlines - it was about deadly fun too!

Then… Flash died. Google pulled the plug and said, “Use HTML5 now.”
I tried learning Google Web Designer, but the code flew over my head. That’s when my senior, Chirag Sharma, introduced me to Motion Graphics and Video Editing.

One try and I was hooked. There was no video team then. Just me and my PC - a one-man army. I learned by doing, failing, and doing again... Until I became EC’s go-to video guy.

What’s the most exciting motion design project you’ve worked on at EC?

One of my absolute favourites has to be the Fortune Pet Pujo song video. It was vibrant, fast-paced, and packed with green-screen madness - the perfect blend of edits and motion graphics. Honestly? I had a blast.

The song was in Bengali, and I didn’t understand a single word.
But who needs lyrics when the vibe’s on point and the visuals are fire? We went all out on the animation and the final video? Pure magic.

The campaign did so well, they came back the next year for Fortune Pet Pujo Song 2 and we delivered another banger!
Great visuals, great energy, and proof that sometimes, not knowing the language just helps you feel the beat even more.

How do you balance creativity with tight deadlines?

Pretty much the same way I balance chai in one hand and a mouse in the other - with nerves of steel, endless Ctrl+Zs, and a silent prayer to the render gods.

You recently worked on a campaign that bagged two awards-what was special about that project for you?

Over the years at EC, I’ve been lucky to work on some amazing campaigns - Lenovo ADP, Girls With Goals, Fortune Ganpati, Hilsa, Pet Pujo Song, McDowell’s Yaari Patrol, and Lenovo Service Live - each with its own vibe and madness.

But the Parle Kiss Me campaign? That one hit different.
It was special because, after a long time, I got to work on a full-fledged case study video - something I truly enjoy.
Big thanks to Ashlesh for the opportunity!

And the best part? The campaign won not one, but two awards! From the storytelling to the animation flow - everything just clicked.

Sometimes, the best work happens when you're not chasing awards - just having fun doing what you love.

What’s one unforgettable memory from the early days that still makes you smile?

Oh, for sure - it has to be that birthday moment!
Mine and Shrinath’s birthdays fall on the same day, and that year, the team went all out with the madness.

Someone (who clearly knows too much) brought up a certain thrilling bike story - let’s just say, it’s still classified EC history.
And what did the gang do?
They turned it into a poster-style cake print that said:
“Bad Boys of EC”- with me and Shrinath on a bike, full action-movie style!

Ashlesh, Swapnil, Suyog, and Wyane got into full design team mode - just to make a cake poster!

Even today, whenever I think of that cake, the poster, and all the laughter - I can’t help but smile.
Total movie moment. Total EC madness.

You’ve probably mentored quite a few-what’s one piece of advice you always give to younger junior?

Software can be taught but creativity is your real superpower.
Don’t just show up with tools, show up with ideas.

And it’s perfectly okay to be quiet in the beginning…
Just make sure your work does all the talking.

As a digital agency, what do you think sets EC apart from others?

Most agencies follow the brief.
At EC, we dig deeper-question it, elevate it, and reimagine what it can be.
Sometimes, the brief ends up following us.
It’s that mix of creativity, instinct, and just the right amount of chaos-and somehow, it all comes together on time (well… mostly).

What’s one core value of EC’s culture that’s stayed with you through the years?

One word: Excellence.

At EC, it’s never about just ticking boxes - it’s about giving your best, every single time.
Even if it’s 11:59 PM and the render bar is stuck at 99%, we’re still pushing to make it better. From wild brainstorms to last-minute fixes and never-ending feedback loops - the drive to do great work has always been there.

We laugh, stress, juggle a hundred things… but we never settle.
That “let’s make it awesome” mindset?

That’s EC. And it’s been with me since day one.

What’s one thing you wish your colleagues knew about you?

They know everything... even the fact that I secretly open old projects - not to edit, not to update but just to admire the beauty of those perfectly placed keyframes. It’s my guilty pleasure, like rewatching your favorite scene on loop.

What does a typical ‘out-of- office’ day look like for you?

Out-of-office for me means two things: chasing rainclouds on a scenic trail or being joyfully bossed around by my kids at home.

We hear you love monsoon treks-what’s been your best one? Share some pics!

I love monsoon treks - but my best phase was during the Covid lockdown. While everyone was stuck at home, I was lucky to work remotely from my village for two years. And that’s when the real adventure began.
Every morning from 5 to 9 AM, my village gang and I would explore the nearby hills.

7 days, 7 different spots, all covered in beautiful monsoon mist.
It wasn’t just trekking - we played cricket, did some social work, planted trees, and made memories that felt like a movie.
And yes… my colleagues were super jealous.
While they were stuck on Zoom, I was out climbing hills and living the monsoon dream - Kolhapur style!

After 10 years at EC, you’ve surely made some solid work friends-tell us about them!

Over the years, I’ve made some amazing friends at EC - the kind who feel more like family than colleagues.

Ashlesh and Shrinath are like brothers. Whether it’s tough deadlines, tricky edits, or life outside work - they’ve always had my back.

A big part of my best motion work happened because of Ashlesh’s strong design support. Teamwork at its best.

And then there's our legendary Tiffin Gang - Ashlesh, Shrinath, Swapnil, Wayne, Suyog, Aniket, Sameer, Sneha, and Sania.

Together, we’ve shared ideas, screens, stories… and a lot of food.
Lunch breaks turned into laughter breaks, and that bond still fuels the work and the vibes.

What does life at EC mean to you after 10 years of stories, work, and culture?

After 10 years, EC isn’t just a workplace - it’s a wild mix of pitch chaos, last-minute magic, inside jokes, and people who feel like family.

From the Flash days to full-scale motion films, from “what am I doing?” to “I’ve got this,”EC has been my creative playground, pressure cooker, and comfort zone - all rolled into one.

It’s where I grew up professionally, made work I’m proud of, and learned that the best ideas usually come after the second chai and third round of feedback.

10 years. Countless frames. One unforgettable journey.
