WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE TECH?
WAS IT ALWAYS THE PLAN?
I started my career in software development, but honestly, I wasn't very serious about it in the beginning. Over time, I realized I naturally enjoy thinking logically, connecting the dots, and understanding things before jumping to conclusions.
I'm also a bit of an introvert, so I enjoy working in my own zone. Sometimes, it just feels easier to communicate with machines, they're predictable, logical, and always make you think. That comfort helped me spend more time exploring, experimenting, and improving my skills.
What started casually slowly turned into something I genuinely enjoy. Today, tech isn't just my career, it's a space where I feel curious, focused, and constantly growing.
YOU HAVE BEEN THE ONLY GIRL IN THE TECH TEAM, HOW HAS THAT BEEN HONESTLY?
Honestly, it's been a really interesting and growth-filled experience.
Being the only girl in a team of 10-12 and leading the project might sound unusual, but it's never felt that way - it's always been about the work and the team.
I have a bit of a tomboy nature, so getting along with everyone comes naturally. Clear, straightforward communication works best, especially with tight timelines. It's easier to be direct, say things as they are, and move forward without taking things personally.
And no - being a girl doesn't mean no one says no… I wish that were true.
But yes, it's less about that and more about building a team with trust, clarity, and a shared goal.
THAT ONE PROJECT THAT HAD THE ENTIRE TECH TEAM PULLING AN ALL-NIGHTER?
Hahaha honestly, almost every project ends up giving us an all-nighter.
And it’s not about lack of planning - anyone in tech will agree, something unexpected always comes up. A last-minute change, a bug out of nowhere… there’s always something waiting right before delivery.
At that point, it is what it is. We don’t overthink - we just find a solution, fix things step by step, and keep going. Sometimes it’s not just one, but multiple all-nighters back-to-back.
But in the end, we get it done. Deadline met, delivery on time - that’s just how it works in tech.
ECPL'S MOST IMPACTFUL FEMALE PLAYER THIS SEASON. HOW DID THAT FEEL? WERE YOU EXPECTING IT?
It honestly felt really great and a bit surprising too !
ECPL is something we all enjoy a lot, and for me, cricket has always been close to my heart since childhood. I’ve always loved playing - whether it’s batting or bowling - so getting back to it during ECPL was super exciting.
We had a lot of practice sessions, and those were honestly some of the best moments. Since I’m the only girl in the team, it could have felt different - but once they saw my game, I was fully included in everything. In fact, they used to hype me up a lot during practice, which made it even more fun and motivating.
I wasn’t really expecting the award - I was just enjoying the game and giving my best. So getting the “Most Impactful Female Player” felt really special.
More than the award, it was the whole experience - playing as a team, enjoying the moments, and being recognized for something I genuinely love - that made it memorable.
IF YOU HAD TO SWAP ROLES WITH ANOTHER DEPARTMENT AT EC FOR A WEEK, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
Definitely CYLNDR, the team involved in shoots, especially the one working with Smriti Mandhana.
For them, it doesn’t feel like a typical 9 to 6. It’s more like “what’s next?” full of energy, excitement, and something always happening.
That whole behind-the-scenes vibe, creating things live and seeing it all come together, feels very different and fun.
Those are the kind of days where work doesn’t feel like work and yes, a little fangirl bonus too.
SMRITI MANDHANA WAS LITERALLY ON SET WITH US RECENTLY AND WE KNOW YOU’RE A FAN. HOW DID YOU KEEP IT TOGETHER THAT DAY?
What a Moment! Definitely a dream come true for me.
I’m a huge fan of Smriti Mandhana - not just for her batting, but also for the way she carries herself.
When I got to know she was coming for a shoot with our CYLNDR team, I knew I had to be there. I even requested permission just to experience it.
Seeing her in person was amazing - so calm, focused, and humble. No fuss, just doing her work with so much ease and grace.
I did manage to keep it together outside… but inside, full fangirl moment.
And yes, getting that autograph made it even more special.
ONE THING ABOUT EC YOU'D CHANGE OR ADD IF YOU COULD?
A bit more flexibility in how we work; like a hybrid model. I feel when people are comfortable, they naturally perform better… and results speak louder than anything else.
EVERY OFFICE HAS THAT ONE PERSON YOU CALL WHEN EVERYTHING'S ON FIRE. WHO'S YOURS AT EC?
My go-to person in the office is my manager, Sagar Yeole.
Whenever things are on fire or feel stuck, he's the one I call, he brings clarity, helps break things down, and makes the next steps simple.
He's not just a manager, but also a buddy. Clear and firm when needed, but also gives me the space to think and work my way. He's always backed my decisions, even in tough situations, and that trust makes a big difference.
And the fun part, he knows exactly when to step in with food to keep things calm.
So yeah, when things get chaotic, he's my go-to without a doubt.
A TASK YOU SECRETLY HATE BUT WILL NEVER ADMIT?
Writing super long documentation after finishing the actual work.
BEST AND WORST PART OF BEING THE ONLY GIRL IN TECH (ONE WORD EACH)?
Best: Clarity
Worst: Spotlight
(this is also the best I guess;)
CRAZIEST THING A CLIENT HAS EVER ASKED FOR?
Can we make this small change?” - which actually meant redesign + logic change + urgent delivery before EOD and this comes with subject line as super urgent.
THE EC PERSON YOU'D WANT ON YOUR CRICKET TEAM?
Definitely Sagar - solid support, good strategy, and will make sure the team doesn't lose focus (plus snacks guaranteed)
