DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an experienced Server Administrator with a strong background in server management and cloud platforms, especially AWS. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of hands-on experience, with a deep understanding of software installations including Apache, PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongodb, Redis etc., and proficiency in various monitoring tools. Knowledge of DevOps and Linux certification is an added advantage.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in server administration.
- Extensive knowledge in server software installations like Apache, PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongodb, Redis etc
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch).
- Proficient in using monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or similar.
- Experience in Linux system administration and scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell).
- Solid understanding of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, routing, firewalls).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex system environments.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Professional certifications such as Linux+, LPIC, RHCE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Experience with additional cloud services (Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, configure, and maintain server software, including Apache, PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongodb, Redis and other related technologies.
- Ensure high availability and optimal performance of various server applications.
- Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring efficient operation and resource utilization.
- Develop and maintain documentation for server/system configurations and software installations.
- Implement and oversee security protocols to protect systems and data.
- Conduct regular system backups, and perform disaster recovery operations.
- Engage in server performance tuning and optimization.
- Administer and manage monitoring tools for system health and security.
- Utilize DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and other departments.
