Successful Leadership by Bhavna Ate

Why do most leaders manage to create success stories, but not all manage to successfully create legacies?

Oxford defines the word Legacy as “The long-lasting impact of particular events, actions etc. that have taken place in the past, or in a person’s life”. In the context of leadership, a legacy is not created by one big event or action, but instead, is created by a series of intentional actions and decisions taken by a leader on a day-to-day basis.

In my opinion, the key element to creating a leadership legacy is being consistently intentional in actions and keeping a long-term, larger perspective as a priority as against the short-term wins.
